Here is a great app that we recently added to our school iPads. Sakura Quick Math is a fantastic and fun way for students to work on their math facts. It is recommended for grades K-5.
iPad journaling provides a great introduction to student blogging. You can create individual journals on the student iPads (just make sure that they get the same number iPad each time) or create a classroom journal by letting the students use the app on your iPad. Either way you can email your students' diary pages to yourself as a jpeg or pdf. Then post the journal on your school web page. It's an easy way to update your web page and provides your students an audience for their writing.
