Technology in Every Classroom

Here's a fun idea to bring the 21st century into your classroom... next time your students write a report, let them create a FAKE Twitter feed or Facebook page.

Fakebook is a FREE application which allows teachers and students to create imaginary profile pages for study purposes. Create a fake social profile for a fictional or historical character, or even a concept/object! Chart the plot of a book, the development of a character, a series of historical events, debates and relationships, and so on! You can even save your work and edit it again later. What a fun way for you to introduce historical and fictional characters!

Here is a Start-Up Guide that shows you all the great things you can personalize on your Fakebook page as well as a Evaluation Sheet which provides a rubric for grading your projects.

Another fun and FREE web application to try is Fake Tweet Builder. Just like Fakebook, students and teachers are able to create and customize a fake Twitter stream. Simply write your Twitter conversation in the space provided, add your customization and create your Twitter Thread. Once you are done, you can save your Twitter thread as a photo (jpg) file.

Here is where you input your Twitter text
Here is the finished Twitter Thread
